Mini Cooper Clubman
September 3, 2008
Looking for a Mini Cooper Clubman for sale, North Florida? Have you considered the average five year cost of owning a new, 2008, Clubman? You may be surprised by how affordable the after purchase cost really is.
There are 7 categories to consider when you are looking at a new vehicle: depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, insurance, fuel, maintenance, and repairs. So, instead of drawing this out in a year by year breakdown, Ill just show you the total after 5 years.
1. Depreciation $10,704
2. Fees and Taxes 2,551
3. Financing 3,277
4. Insurance 8,100
5. Fuel 11,553
6. Maintenance 5,132
7. Repairs 1,067
Total $42,384
Doesn’t look affordable when you look at it all by itself, but try looking on the Internet and comparing the same costs with a new Chevy, Ford, or Honda.
If these costs aren’t up your alley, you should look for a used Mini Cooper Clubman for sale North Florida. Your cost drops by over $11,000 just by buying a car that is only one year old. Crazy isn’t it. That is the number one reason I have never bought a new car. Let some other guy lose that first years depreciation and pay the fees at the dealership. What ever car or year you buy, I hope you can find all of the enjoyment you want.

Average maintenance cost
September 2, 2008
Ownership costs can differ greatly. The cost to own and operate two different vehicles with equal purchase prices can differ by thousands. The average maintenance cost for 2007 Mini Cooper can be very different than the cost of any other car in its class. Of course when evaluating ownership cost for used cars and trucks, a vehicle’s condition and mileage will greatly impact ownership costs, therefore it’s important to compare similar vehicles in similar condition for an accurate picture.
Regardless of the “value” claims that you may read in car reviews or hear in advertisements, the economic value of a car is based on how much it will cost to own and operate compared to its purchase price. In a sense, purchase price is “what you pay” and the ownership costs are “what you get.” The average maintenance cost for 2007 Mini Cooper is close to $1,000(U.S.) for the first five years. That cost does not include repairs, just general maintenance. If you wish to include repairs the overall cost for five years jumps to just under $1,500(U.S.). That is not a bad cost at all.
The average cost for 2007 Mini Cooper is fairly low. It goes to show you that you need to figure in all of the extra costs associated with buying a different vehicle. Sure, you can go for the lowest price, but be careful that you do not get the highest cost of ownership after the purchase. In this case buyers regret could lead to repossession and bad credit.

Mini Cooper Oil leak not from engine
September 1, 2008
So, your Mini Cooper’s oil leak is not from the engine? Are you sure it is oil and not tranny fluid? There are only a few places where you can lose engine oil. Why don’t we use a process of elimination to help you narrow down your search and get your Mini back on the road.
Things can get a little confusing under there when you are trying to run down a Mini Cooper oil leak that is not from the engine. Some of the possible leak locations are right above the axle, which can throw the oil back at the engine. That makes it harder to track down your oil leak. You have checked the oil pan gasket, the valve pan gaskets. What about the oil filter housing? The o-ring on the oil filter? One spot that a lot of guys do not think about is the heat exchange unit. It sits below the oil filter housing and is difficult to see with the car on jackstands. You are better off letting the guys at BMW work on this one because of the space confinement. It is a lot easier to repair on a lift. In a day or two you should have your baby back.
Mini Cooper oil leak that is not from the engine, that is a tough nut to crack. The chance of oil being thrown back onto the engine from the axle makes things even harder to diagnose. The heat exchange unit is the most likely culprit, but the hardest to check on your own. One of the little foibles of owning a sweet little ride like the Mini Cooper.
