Mini Cooper Club California
The mini cooper has attracted hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts. So what is the natural thing to do when you get that many like minded people together? You form car clubs, of course. The mini cooper clubs of California are no different. Each was formed by a group of mini cooper admirers to hang out, talk about their cars, and drive the open road. Some are particular to classic minis, those produced before BMW ownership, and the new mini. Still others are eclectic and just want to provide a place for mini lovers to get together.
Mini cooper clubs California are no different than those in other states. California has dozens of car clubs and at least two dozen are mini cooper clubs. Most of them have joined to form a website at www.californiaclubs.com. Each club has its individual site that can be linked to from this master site. One of the best aspects of these sites are the forums. You can learn anything related to repair, purchase, or restoration you could want. California has a broad spectrum of mini cooper clubs. North American Motoring was established many years ago. On the other end of the pole is redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts, which was founded in 2004. They offer many of the same services, but in different areas of the state and eras of the mini’s production.
Although mini cooper clubs in California often have different foci’s, they all share a great love of the mini cooper. Whether produced by BMW or BMC, these cars have a loving following that will never waver or die.

Anyone know of a dealership that does not have a “value added” charge for the John Cooper Works?

As per Dave Peck’s query: California seems to be the only state still charging for added value…sucks for you guys. Find a dealer outside Ca that’s close enough to make it affordable to either ship or go get…Mini of Pensacola does not have added value pricing but to ship to So. Cal will cost upward of $750 – or you can fly here, and drive home..which may be the same cost as the added value. Check out Arizona but whatever you do, do not go to Las Vegas Mini unless you want the screw job with no kissing.
I live in Cypress, CA and am looking for an independent auto service that doesn’t charge astronomical prices that the BMW dealer does. When I had a
RX-7 several years ago, there was a very competent auto service with 4-5 locations that did service on my Mazda with more reasonable prices than the dealer. I am looking for a similar thing with my Mini.
Also, I like to change my own oil and the Mini manual will not specify what grade of oil to use. I have an 05 S model.
Can anyone out there help me? Thanks in advance.
