I have found that some brands of oil filters include o-rings that are too thin and cause leaks around the filter that appear to come from somewhere else.

I have had great success with Mini and Purolator filters with no problems.

I have an oil leak and have found the source but don't know what the part is and how hard it is to replace. Can someone help. The part is a silver can shaped container on the passenger side between the passenger strut and engine block. It is leaking from the bottom of the can. Thoughts?

If the oil is up in the front it is probably coming from then engine mount. Mine is leaking there right now and needs a repair. The part is roughly $100 and the install is about the same,

Check the left side of the engine and see if it is leaking from teh mount, the silver can slightly smaller than a pop can,

Good luck
